Aircraft interiors is a business of variants. Two airlines order the same seat model and receive different pitch, different dress covers, different in-arm literature pockets and a different cabin layout. Every configuration has to build to a specific tail number, and every soft material, foam, fabric, thermoplastic panel and adhesive, has to carry a flammability test that proves it meets FAR 25.853. When that mix of options and compliance lives in spreadsheets, the wrong dress cover reaches the line and a missing burn certificate stops a shipset at final inspection.

Layout and option capture
The airline cabin layout, seat pitch, trim, dress covers and buyer-furnished options are captured as a configuration tied to a specific tail number or fleet.
Step 1Variant BOM release
The configuration drives the correct variant multi-level BOM and build instructions, with effectivity set so the right options and materials apply to that tail only.
Step 2Material sourcing and compliance
Fabrics, foams, panels and adhesives are procured and each lot is linked to current flammability evidence before it can be issued to production.
Step 3Upholstery and soft-goods build
Cut-and-sew, foam lamination, fire-blocking and dress-cover assembly are routed and recorded, with material lots captured against each cushion set.
Step 4Frame and monument assembly
Seat frames, galleys and monuments are built against the variant BOM, with fastening and fit checks logged and the serial assigned for traceability.
Step 5Flammability and dynamic testing
Vertical burn, heat release, smoke density and 16g dynamic tests are run and recorded against the part and configuration for TSO evidence.
Step 6Final inspection and conformity
Each unit is inspected against the configuration, non-conformances are dispositioned, and conformity records are completed before release to kitting.
Step 7Shipset kitting
Seats, galleys and monuments for the tail are picked, kitted and staged as one complete shipset, checked so nothing ships partial.
Step 8Delivery and installation support
The shipset is delivered with weight, conformity and certification documents, and any reconfiguration or spares request is then handled against the same tail record.
