A satellite payload or a ground-segment system cannot be reworked once it is on orbit, so the discipline is absolute: every EEE part is screened and lot-controlled, every assembly step is done under clean-room and ESD control, and every unit progresses through assembly, integration and test, from engineering model to qualification and flight model, with a complete record. A ground station adds its own antenna, TT and C and box-build build standard. For the Bangalore space cluster feeding ISRO, NSIL and private constellations, the as-built record is a delivery condition.

A payload, bus or ground-system order from ISRO, NSIL, a prime or a constellation operator is logged with model, quantities and milestones, and its specification set attached.

Space-grade parts and materials are received by lot, screening and upscreening evidence recorded, limited-life items flagged, and stock booked to controlled stores.
Step 2Board and sub-assembly build
Boards and sub-assemblies are built under clean-room and ESD control, with workmanship and inspection recorded against each serial.
Step 3Unit assembly
Sub-assemblies are integrated into payload and bus units under configuration control, with harness and integration steps captured.
Step 4Assembly, integration and test
The AIT campaign runs functional, alignment and interface tests against the unit serial, holding any unit with an open non-conformance.
Step 5Environmental test campaign
Thermal-vacuum, vibration, acoustic and EMC tests are completed as gated milestones, with full evidence stored against the unit before it progresses.
Step 6Mass properties and final metrology
Mass, centre of gravity and dimensional data are measured and recorded, closing out the physical configuration of the flight unit.
Step 7Review board and delivery package
The as-built genealogy, test pedigree and non-conformance history are compiled into the delivery data package for the customer review board.
Step 8Dispatch and ground acceptance
Flight units and ground stations are dispatched with a GST-compliant e-invoice, and ground segments run site acceptance with their records maintained through service.
